Job Title: Housekeeper
Reports To: Assistant Building Operations Manager
Location:
Site-Based – Manchester City Centre
Purpose of the Role
To maintain high standards of cleanliness across building, communal areas, and grounds, of a new residential development in Manchester City Centre. Working as part of a housekeeping team and wider site team.
Key Responsibilities
Cleaning Duties
- Clean communal floor coverings (mopping, sweeping, or vacuuming), including foyers, stairwells, amenity areas, lifts, and window ledges, ensuring surfaces are stain- and smear-free.
- Dust, damp-wipe, and polish communal surfaces such as balustrades, handrails, skirting boards, and window sills.
- Remove cobwebs from window and door recesses, light fittings, and other areas through comprehensive dusting.
- Vacuum carpets and flooring , ensuring they are free from dirt
- Mop any hard flooring
- Wipe and clean light switches, door furniture, fire extinguishers, and other high-touch surfaces.
- lifts, clean walls, remove fingerprints, and polish mirrors, polish doors and buttons.
- Ensure all communal mirrors and glass surfaces are cleaned and left streak-free.
Customer Service
- Maintain a friendly, approachable, and helpful demeanor when interacting with residents.
- Provide exceptional customer care by addressing resident requests, and offering guidance when needed.
- Assist with utility meter readings upon resident request.
Health & Safety
- Report health and safety concerns to the line manager.
- Prioritize safe working practices for personal and community safety.
- Management of cleaning chemicals
Administrative Duties
- Complete and sign daily cleaning inspection checklists.
- Manage cleaning supplies by submitting formal material requests to the line manager and maintaining organized storage areas.
Additional Responsibilities
- Ensure a clean, professional appearance at all times, including wearing staff uniforms.
- Perform other reasonable duties as assigned by the line manager.
