Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Tile Setter to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining tiles in various settings, ensuring high standards of quality and precision. Duties
- Measure and prepare surfaces for tile installation using appropriate tools and techniques
- Cut tiles accurately using hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment to fit designated spaces
- Lay tiles according to schematics, plans, or specifications provided by architects or project managers
- Apply adhesives, grout, and sealants to secure tiles effectively and ensure durability
- Perform surface preparation tasks such as levelling floors or walls prior to tiling
- Assist with other construction activities including carpentry, painting, or minor repairs as required
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment, adhering to health and safety regulations at all times
- Collaborate with team members and clients to ensure project specifications are met within deadlines
Requirements
- Proven experience in tiling or related construction trades such as carpentry or painting
- Proficiency with hand tools (e.g., tile cutters, trowels) and power tools used in tiling and construction work
- Ability to read schematics, technical drawings, or plans accurately
- Knowledge of construction principles including surface preparation and finishing techniques
- Familiarity with the use of construction painting equipment is advantageous
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in measuring and cutting tiles
- Good physical condition with the ability to lift heavy materials and work on ladders or scaffolding safely
- Relevant experience working with schematics and technical instructions is desirable
- Valid relevant qualifications or certifications in construction or tiling are preferred
