Contract carpet fitter required. Generally, we can keep you busy for 2 or 3 days a week.
Must have own van and tools. Really, please, if you don't have a vehicle we cannot help you.
Must live in South London as our warehouse to collect the carpets is in Wimbledon SW19. So, that means we really cannot help you if you live elsewhere. The carpets are in Wimbledon and we just don't want to work with people outside of the local area. Sooner or later you will be moaning about collecting the carpets from down south or asking us if we can get them dropped to site. We won't do this so please, just look for a local company you can work with if you live north of the River.
I'm sorry but we need you to speak English to a high standard. Almost all of our customers use this language and it is very helpful if you can speak to them.
Of course, we want someone reliable, honest, well presented, self-reliant who can actually fit carpets to a high standard. Someone who will turn up when they say they will, do what they say they will and takes pride in their work.
But we also need someone how can follow procedures and instructions without constantly being reminded. We are trying very hard to run a professional flooring company that puts the customer first . That means generally something as simple as calling the customer before they set out for the job in the morning, communicating with the customer in the day and asking them to check the work at the end of the project to ensure they are satisfied and happy.
You must be able to use a smart phone app to upload images and a job sheet for each job.
We want someone who is able to fit all types carpet, wool, nylon, sisal etc. to stairs and flat areas. Templating and fitting stair runners is a bonus as is fitting cushion vinyl flooring.
£7.50 per m2 domestic wool / poly carpet fitting.
£3 per m2 waste removal and disposal per m2
£10 per straight stair + parking and congestion.
£12.50 per m2 for sisal double stick
£10 per m2 for cushion vinyl
£12.50 per stair for runner fitting
£20 per step for templating
Finally, we pay on Fridays. That's weekly and it is hard enough for us to manage as it is. We need someone who is disciplined enough not to want paying as soon as they have finished a project or before payday or asks for subs from the management team or their co-workers.
We are going to be very, very picky for this role. We want to work with someone long term. So, you will have to come in and see us and you will get very sporadic work to begin with. So, if you don't think you fit the bill, then you probably don't.
